GARDNER Elementary
Gardner Street Elementary School has a dedicated art studio space provides Gardner Street students with a creative environment in which they can explore and grow. Run by a cadre of parent volunteers dedicated to ensuring that the visual arts continue to hold a place of importance in students' lives, weekly classes focus on a blend of creative expression and technical skill building.
Students are encouraged to talk about their ideas and inspirations as they are exposed to a variety of techniques and media - all while gaining confidence in their own abilities. Lessons in art history and contemporary art foster an appreciation for art and visual awareness that spark children's imagination and lead to a greater understanding of diverse cultures and different means of expression.
